Another victim of ethanol...there are too many to count.
That truly sucks, sorry for your lost efforts, and money.

Apart from at the extremes of the country Esso Supreme Plus was the only Ethanol free petrol. Then I heard it had now ethanol. Then I heard the Ethanol badging was just a legal 'up to' badging and on the Esso web site (which might be up to date?) it says that it is still Ethanol free. Either way my 961 is a keeper so I'm dropping pound coins into my 'Tab Tank saving piggy bank'. My 2017 was a Dream Machine custom paint job and is still lovely so they will be top of my list when it is ally tank time.

TAB 2 Organised through Stu and Dream Machine. Work of Art. Without the support of Stu and others we’d be fuc£&; in trouble.
I’m guessing you can no longer use that tank bag on your TAB tank MAK - got any pictures of the ally tank painted in that glorious blue, or did you just go for an infill like Stu’s Dommie?

Same question Clive - what design would you plan to paint your TAB tank when the piggy bank is full? I’m still pondering mine - I’ve decided to be decidedly indecisive!!

Paint it the same as currently. My tank is in a non-standard slightly sparkly silver with a custom Union Jack. Yes I love a polished alloy tank as much as the next man but when it doesn't properly match the tail it looks like an addition.... A polished alloy tank gives it a a built-up track-bike look, which is great if that's what you want, rather than a smart commercially produced road bike which is what I kind of like.

Agreed Clive, I was definitely in the ‘it needs to be tied in with the rest of the bike or it looks disjointed’ camp. Until I left it naked, bar the Norton logo, for a period whilst I (fail to ) make my mind up! Now I love both options!

But hey what’s the hurry - it’s a keeper so the decision will keep. In the immortal words of those rock gods Rush - “if you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

The answer is so easy - buy three; one polished, one half painted and one fully painted. As one who constantly swaps the little fairing on and off trying to decide my preference I fully understand.

I like it Clive! Buy another two tanks - up ere’ for thinkin’ as they say😀👍. Only problem is that my wife is from Glasgow…….. the rough end! Despite the fact that I turned 60 a short time ago, there is still an outside chance that I may need my testicles in the future:oops:!

Thanks Stu so at the moment the options for the filler are Monza or a screwdown is that correct?
Just monza I'm afraid....I dropped a ball there not thinking it through ie the tank has no other form of breather besides the monza cap.

Does that mean I can ditch the 2 hoses the drop down from the tank?
