There is a center stand included in my box of parts the goes on my early model Commando with the center stand attached to the frame. It has a short stub with a square of heavy diamond plate that looks like it's suppose to be a place to put your foot to lower the stand . The stand will install with the stub pointing up on the left hand side or pointing down on the right hand side. Seems like it should be pointing up on the left but it interferes slightly with the frame when installed like this.
Is the stub suppose to be pointing up on the left or pointing down on the right?

Does this help? I never had a center stand for mine, so I really don't know.

Thanks, it looks like the stub is on the left. I'll just have to do some shimming or trimming to avoid interference.

Mine looks like this.

Stub on the left facing up is correct, you may have to check for wear at the gearbox carrier and the stand mounting holes to make sure that the stand does not go up too high. The stand simply bears against the gearbox carrier and over years can become worn or peened over. a dab of weld and some careful filing will get it right.
