I will apologize in advance for not posting pictures with this, I have to dig everything out of storage first. There was a Dunstall 810 kit with all the parts that came with the bike (that had been installed and used at least briefly- There is nominal wear on the pistons) a period Dunstall catalog was included with all the paperwork and documents that came with the bike, it appears that everything is complete. My internet searches haven't turned up much....what sort of values and desireability do these kits have (if any)? I mean if one were to turn up on Ebay or the like? Any feedback is appreciated, you guys obviously know your stuff-

70 views and no responses....I might have asked something offensive? If so, I apologize. I was contemplating selling the kit to subsidize the project, along with some other non commando parts that I had.

71 views & I have no clue as to value but try searching the forums past for sale or wanted adds to see any that have been here and go to EBays " completed listings" & see any that have been sold there. Not a commen item though. Good luck.

I have a bunch of Dunstall stuff for sale, the market for it has gone soft. 10 years ago it was a boom market for sellers, now it takes a long time to find the one person who has to have it. I am down to selling my stuff with a title and a bunch of other parts as a project. Hopefully this will net a sale.

No need to be sorry .
The value is almost ZERO if intended for use. For bragging rights or for display purposes then ebay auction will be the best determiner of what some 2 collectors will try to out bid each other for a piece of history.
For free, I wouldn't install it on my bikes. I have a commando with all the road going chassis bits, clip-ons, dual disc, borrani rims, tank, seat, rear sets, 1/4 fairing w/lowers. I'm not against Dunstall and his place in norton/motorcycle history but the 810 kit is a disaster waiting to happen. The bad reputation is out there and I have not yet heard anything to change my view of the 810 as delivered by dunstall.

Dave is correct, however I did see a pristine used kit sell on E-bay for over $1000.00 about a year ago. I would certainly list it and see what happens. The only other alternative is to melt it down and cast it into something that works. Jim

Hi,

Even though I agree with the fact that the 810 doesn't work, that alone certainly doesn't mean that its not worth some money. There are plenty of collectors that want to build a correct Dunstall and just save it for prosperity...nothing wrong with that. If no one would take and save all the motorcycle and car parts that didn't work over the years.....we would loose a huge part of our history.

I sold a Dunstall barrel (with pistons) on E-bay for 1800.00.

The collector may save if for posterity, but I think you cashed in on the prosperity ($1800) already

Dave,

Well, you know I am not much for 'original and stock' , so I am not one to hold onto those kind of parts. Frankly, I was quite surprised how much that barrel went for. Buyer was thrilled, and so was I.

I have always had a lot of respect for Paul Dunstall. Considering what he was doing back in the day when these were new machines, I think he was kind of a Carroll Shelby of Nortons.

As far as the 810 kit, you wont get any arguments from me......its just Bad (but valuable to some)
