Having trouble finding that part number over here in sweden, or even on ebay.

Are you using teh GF25 filter on your bike??

3/8" fittings?

I did find this though, which sounds similar... if you read the description it sounds too good to be true... which means it might be!

What do you think about this..?

Mike

That is the same filter that is sold by NAPA. I have been using them for years. I have cut them apart and they are very high quality and yes they have a magnet also. Put a couple large o-rings in the fins to protect them from abrasion. Jim

Those things usually make my eyes glaze over, even without the wine, but if you get the drift, it's about the amount of crap being passed. Anyhow, wine is fine, but liquor is quicker.

Dumb oil filter question

1 micron is certainly better than anything I've seen, even the WIX 51032 which has 10 micron and is about as good as you get with a spin on. Thanks Jim.

I was reading some of the specs on the filter. I probably wouldn't bet on the 1 mic rating. What the ad says is it "filters particles as small as 1 micron". Not too sure what that means but I have been happy with the results I have had using it. Plus when they are done on the bike, the magnets work great for holding papers on my toolbox. :D Jim

PS The magnets always have a collection of metal filings from the engine when I remove them.

I use an oil drain plug with a super magnet (rare earth) - "Gold Plug" brand - plus a quality filter plus quality oil changed every autumn before storing or at every 2000km. I tend to believe that this is good preventive maintenance.
