FWIW I have seen drilled discs crack....Triumph ones, and Norvil ones. Mick Hemmings says they will crack eventually if you drill them, so you need to keep an eye on them. I always bring a spare one when I'm going racing....not so easy on a road bike though!!!

Interesting how threads come up at just the right time.
Having had two different floating disks score in the last couple of years i have just pulled my original, but drilled, Norton disk from the box under the bench and was thinking of refitting it together with the original caliper.
Had the master cylinder done before going to a bigger disk and agree that bang for buck sleeving wins hands down.
Decisions decisions.
