But L.A.B says the front brake will still seem wooden
Only that bird over there has seen it

And she's speechless!

Wooden wanna be blamed for this one.

I wasn't taking offence pete.
I thought it was funny and very clever.
Obviously your brake pressure is good.
It's your blood pressure I worry about.
But I think that's improving since you've realised all is tongue in cheek.

BTW pete, why is your brake lever bent and missing the end knob?
I hope you haven't dropped the machine during a kick start episode.

You're welcome to tell my kick start story if you want.

No, it's how I have it configured. High end and all, you know.

They were just hidden for effect.

Here is what I use to bleed my brakes. Awesomely effective.
You may or may not recognize this from your Dr. office visits.

I used to have a smaller version of that bottle (I used a haloborange bottle) kept under my Fastback seat next to the battery, for collecting the oil that Norton thought was a good idea to pump out to the rear chain. Or was it just the oil tank breather? I can't remember now. It used to fill up with aerated oil which I would periodically dump.

But getting back to brakes. You know how the Commando rear drum brake pedal feels like you are treading on a mushy spring with nothing happening at the rear end? Well the MkIII feels exactly the same. I think Norton set it up that way for familiarity reasons. I reckon you could take the whole rear disc unit off the bike and chuck it in the river. Bike would probably stop better with less unsprung weight on board. Just my thoughts.
