Don't forget the mass of 1T bills will compress the actual thickness of each bill so that the stack would never actually reach 67,866 miles, it would be smaller.
The more important fact here is that with 31.4T bills, we could light 31.4T separate cigars.
A far better way to dispose of our wealth than pissing it away on government bridges to nowhere projects.

Really so are you the mathematician ?
No, but I wish I had seen that to check myself - at least it agrees. I got the bill thickness from several sites on the Internet and verified it with a micrometer and several new bills - the rest is 4th or 5th grade arithmetic.

It Agrees ...its almost word for word...how extraordinary ?🤔
So your point being that raising the debt ceiling is a no brainer and should be extended...or should I say be raised ??

As I said to start, this started as a 50+ year old way of understanding the GDP. That number disputes what was said all those years ago. So then, I wanted to know the reality of today. Not sure what you're fussing about - if you have something to say, just say it!

So your point being that raising the debt ceiling is a no brainer and should be extended...??

Of course not. There should be no debt and therefore no need for a debt ceiling! And if it is absolutely needed, then we should at least be able to pay the interest on the debt which we cannot - hence deficit spending! Most Americans don't understand that deficit spending is the amount of the interest on the debt we can't cover. In our households, if you can't pay the interest on your debt, bankruptcy follows.

Unless they start up the printing machines again....to pay the self debt

US economy projected to be slower than Europe’s in 2023 …
while America is paying for a European War in Ukraine..how can that be ….how stupid can these people be….

Look here: https://view.officeapps.live.com/op/view.aspx?src=https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-soi/21dbs01t06co.xlsx&wdOrigin=BROWSELINK

In 2021, the IRS took in $4,111,569,512,000 ($4.1T) - it's a little hard to pay off $31,400,000,000,000 ($31.4T) with that income.

I'm not as worried about self-debt (around $12T).

If you haven't seen it, this is interesting/scary: https://www.usdebtclock.org/
Thanks Greg its never been my intention to come accross negative...im just being real about the current financial state of affairs we ALL face globally.
I have always been taught to believe...If America sneezes...We ALL catch a cold.
Have a good day/evening

Look at the HANDS of young people.....
You can see bones & ligaments/tendons. NO MUSCLE AT ALL.
They DO NOTHING. They don't mow lawns. They don't wash cars. They don't take out the trash. They don't shovel snow.

We are so screwed.
TBH I'd expect their hands to be the ONLY place with muscle, all that texting!!
This story made me laugh/cry. Twenty eight year old guy living with Mum, almost driven to suicide 'cos he ain't bright enough to chuck his phone away and buy a new one. Even sadder that it got to court, any sane person would have slapped both their legs and fined them for wasting the court's time...
But that's the 'modern' world, sadly....

This is not the modern world.
This is the tabloid nonsense of two childish morons (sound familiar?)
This kind of garbage news exists purely because people click on and willingly share it around.

It may be clicked on and shared yes
But unless this is a completely fabricated story then sadly is does reflect the modern world because it happened

People have been doing stupid shit since the dawn of time.
The REAL issue here is that modern technology has made it profitable.

I guess modern technology is a double edged sword
It can keep people more informed and dissinformed /distracted
We used to rely on the tabloid press for that

It's not the 'garbage news' aspect that got me, rather the total waste of legal resources. Both time and money, and doubtless funded by the UK taxpayer....
