For anyone interested, there's an AMCA vintage bike show in Dania Beach, the last Saturday in January, 2013.

Weather here at that time is typically dry and sunny, with highs during the day in the low 70s, and nighttime lows in the 50s, unless a cold front comes through, then it's 60s/30s

Last year about 250 bikes were entered in the show, ranging from a camelback Indian to a first-generation Goldwing. It's an AMCA event, so bikes need to be 35 years old to qualify to enter.

I've gotten plaques in the past, but last year there were about 20 bikes in my category (post 1959 English except Triumph). Bike that won my class was a 1960 AJS 18TCS (Typhoon 600cc single) that was a trailer queen.

Show location is Frost Park, about one mile from Ft. Lauderdale Int'l Airport.

Bumped this up - show is next weekend, January 26. They've got close to 150 bikes registered so far, about 20% ahead of last year which had something like 249 bikes entered, many who registered the day of the show.

Focus this year will be on bikes with a competition history. Most of the vintage compy stuff down here is flat track, but there are a few trials bikes, road racers and desert sleds bound to show up

I'm bringing Ed and the Lone Ranger, buddy of mine is working feverishly to finish his Triton - T140 in a '65 Atlas frame - and Vicki is setting up a whole Ducati corner. Hopefully she'll bring her '68 GP single for the comp class. Bike wasn't really competitive when new, but is quite the piece of mechanical art - and that Fontana 4LS brake - wow!
