corroded combustion chamber

I've come across a t140 splayed port head, the combustion chambers are badly (I mean really badly) pitted/corroded. Otherwise it's the most pristine looking T140 head I've come across in a long time.

Is there anybody who knows of a magician who might be able to repair this? Local machine shop says they could fill the chambers with weld, then machine back to spec... but the risk is warping/cracking the head.

There are definitely pro welders that can build up the combustion chambers with weld beads, then set the head in a CNC mill and cut the original profile back out.

That would cost more than a nice replacement head, FOR SURE, as I'm unaware of anyone that has a T140 combustion chamber CNC profile data file available... (although one may exist if you search)

That amount of welding may soften the material of the head.

So how bad is it?
It would have to be really bad to be unusable. My Trident's chambers looked like the surface of the moon, but I didn't know until I removed the carbon.
The head went back on and is performing beautifully. I reckon the pittings will fill up again soon enough anyway.

Just got the head, I paid next to nothing for it, but looking at the chambers I think it's a paper weight... too bad though, because the rest of it is in great condition. I was told the p/o let the cylinder fill with water, and the bike sat like that for ages...

I've never seen damage quite like that before, with the inside so bad and the outside so untouched.

I would suggest the head is scrap, the welding and re-machining costs would be way in excess of another replacement head. And as mentioned before, the amount of welding required is almost certain to soften the whole casting.
