Just finished this Domi off....just general maintenance, correct a few issues and prepare for use.
This was originally painted up as a Moto Corsa show bike some years back.

Hi , Good looking bike , seen somewhere before .
And a sneak-peak of what Ive been building
Can you tell us more about the sneak peek ? You are using a different wheel I seem to remember , and is this a customers bike ?

It was quite a well known Dominator a few years back. If you Google search Dominator 961 Gulf, I'm sure some better pictures than mine will come up.
My own build for me. I've got the final part arriving next week, so I'll add some proper pictures after its fitted up. I was hoping to get it registered in time for this years riding season, but DVLA are really dragging their heels lately, from what people tell me, so its unlikely. I'll try and at least get some track use out of it anyhow.

Track use ? Nice ! love to hear about that.

I live around 20min away from Donington Park, so it would be rude not to at least do one session on it there. Fingers crossed it doesnt crap it's self, or I run out of talent and stuff it.
Be interesting to see how the wheels perform, being much lighter. Ive also taken the front brake discs up to 330mm.

Nice , Let us know how it handles ! Some on this forum seem to think Norton 961 don't handle very good.

I rode mine on the track and was rather surprised at how well it handled overall. However, compared to modern sportier stuff, it has a slow turn in and generally requires quite a bit more muscle to manhandle around.

According to those who’ve tried them, carbon wheels help with the turn in etc, but my pockets weren’t deep enough to find out.

Fabulous fun though !

My regular hack for track days is an old zx7r....so I'm used to fighting with a bit of weight haha. See how it goes....I reckon the standard Domi settings will be a good base to start from.

I'll give it a damn good go.....not too sure on the ground clearance with the megahones fitted, but we'll see. I'm currently suffering a damaged medial collateral ligament on my right knee...so track days are out of the question right now (I'm struggling to get out of the bath right now, let alone a day on track).
I reckon I should be fighting fit in a few months.

Good luck with the knee!

Clock and other detail shots look impressive.

How the heck you gonna get on a track with megaphones fitted ?!?

They're baffled, so not too ear bleeding....so if I book a noisy day, and save it for the last session of the day, I should be ok I reckon.
Donington is a ride by noise test, one microphone on the start/finish gantry, and another on the left just out of McCleans...so shutting off there will help.

Good luck with that one - they only let my open long 961CR on at Mallory cos I looked like I was going to blubber like a gurlie.
