Rear Sets

I worked in a Triumph shop back in the late 60's and early 70's. When I had the opportunity to hear from one of the factory gentlemen, that the forward positioning of the foot rests commonly used by the "Yanks" was called the "Sit Up and Beg" riding position. LOL

What I find with the Interstate, euro bars and the std pegs is my hips seize as the pegs are too far forward, so before refitting the tank I will be fitting rearsets.

I have rearsets on my 74, with Euro bars, and they work much better for me than stock pegs. And I am 6'1" with very long legs.

I like the stock Interstate seat, and it is way more comfortable than my older Roadster seat (which def. needs a re-foam) or the thin custom single seat that the PO made that I use with my Interstate tank. I do like it's support that the hump gives, despite the numb-ass of longer distances on it.

I reserve my my "Sit Up and Beg" times for off the MC, usually for negotiations with SWMBO!

Cool Interstate seat options

this is mine, i got it on ebay, its a hyde seat i think. I saw one years ago in a classic bike mag on pro type red and silver interstate.

Its really good, doesn't look as good as the standard but its that bit longer.

Have you talked to Sargent Cycle Products? They custom rebuilt an old Alazzurra seat for me several years ago just the way I had asked for. They did a really nice job, it was easily as comfortable as a Corbin, and reasonably priced. Not sure if they would need a Norton seat pan to start with, but would definitely recommend them.
