Sealed for life ‘disposable’ units, vs changing a few pence worth of bulb eh?

That concept is fine so long as the definition of ‘life’ is reasonable !

But hey... That’s progress...

Back in the early 90's, when I was working for the London Investment arm of the largest U.S. retail bank, I watched in excess of 2,000 of our desktop computers being dropped from a 6th floor window into the fleet of waiting skip lorries for salvage. There was nothing wrong with them, they were simply being upgraded to newer units. We've been producing 'disposable' stuff for far too long.

I regularly feel like doing that with computers... nothing to do with upgrading tho...
