Josh, glad u sussed out the fuel taps, that is standard operating practice. Once they had the ream out they should live happy ever after! Like the new peeshooters, I ended up with some of those stainless jobs from the states, factory seconds but very nice finish and really deep note, bike sounds like a coal train now, choice.

I went to a bike show today, took the BSA and the Norton.

The f'in BSA won the "Best Restored Motorcycle" trophy, was hoping the Norton was going to have a crack at that.

At the show there was a guy with an 850 commando, who knew what he was talking about, he informed me I had the passengers and rider foot rubbers around the wrong way, and when I swapped them they fit perfectly, no suprise that the bigger fatter rubber goes under the rider and the smaller thinner under the pillion.

fuel taps: had the exact same issue. had been struggling with the bike for weeks before understanding that was the problem.

Geez GRM, don't encourage Jordan , he carries on like a premenstrual teenage girl when you start talking about mud flaps..... I wonder if a mud flap busted his cherry and won't return his calls ?.

Mudflaps are super-duper lame. Don't take a sweet bike like a Commando and make it dorky by putting mudflaps on it! Just sayin'.

Maybe you need a Honda Goldwing instead? Bahahahahahahaha

my flaps are purely functional... front to keep gravel, rocks, stones road gunk from getting to my low mounted oil cool, and the rear to keep my back side and/or my passangers backside from getting wet when riding in damp/rainy conditions. They may look a bit "dorky" to those who only ride to "profile" in perfect conditions.

If you're riding on gravel/dirt roads and also through rain, then they serve a purpose. I don't ride much in the rain or on gravel/dirt roads so they don't do much for me. We're all different.

I don't like how they look either, think that they're f'ing ugly, but for me they're a neccesary evil.

Next Norton will probably have a glass JPS fron fender and a shortened rear fender for my more sporty needs. I used to have a Ducati 900SS, but sold that when I moved from California to Chicago as there was no place to exploit it the way it needs to be.

Hey, sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do! I don't like riding in the rain so I avoid it as much as possible. /shrug
