Hello my Triton uses a 1958 Wideline frame where the rear brake plate is prevented from rotating by the typical rod attached to a lug welded forward on the swingarm. Can anyone clarify for me if there was there a change in later years which deleted the rod and added a slot to the swingarm (forward of the axle slot I assume ) in which a pin on the brake plate slides to prevent rotation? Just trying to determine interchangeablity of brake plates.
Thanks,
Jack in Seattle

You are correct GP for the more numerous later style swinging arms with lugs.

However, Manx and early swinging arms like the Manx, did not have the cast lugs on the ends.

Manx Norton’s certainly had a torque arm / stay bolting to a bracket on the swinging arm. I’m not sure, but I imagine the early road going swinging arms did the same.

So Jacks ‘58 frame could easily have an earlier swinging arm arrangement in it.
