center stand pad

My center stand (Atlas) fits the frame with a loud whack. It makes contact on the right side near the pivot point. There is a small protrusion with a small threaded hole (approx #8 screw) that would be in the correct position to secure some sort of pad but I can find no info on this. The AN parts book shows nothing like this Also, I can't imagine any previous owners (2) drilling and tapping this.
