I was wondering if anyone would know what carb is correct for an early 1967 Atlas...I have a chopped set of monbloocks (389-218, 389-219), (389-236, 689-236) monoblocks and a set of concentric carbs (930-300, 930-301)

According to the Amal website 'Vehicle Search' : http://amalcarb.co.uk/

Norton Atlas 745cc 1965 onwards 389/218, 389/219

Norton Atlas (Export) 745cc 1966 onwards 389/236, 689/236

(930) '300' & '301' are basic specification Mk1 carbs, so the jetting or throttle slide cutaway etc. could have been altered from the 'standard' specification.

Norton Atlas 745cc 1967 to 1968 930/7, 930/8

My experience is if your bike is fitted with magneto ignition it would have been fitted with 389 monoblocs though would have been 389/689 ie left and right, if your bike has points [coil] ignition then 930 concentrics, and a hump on the rear of the seat.

Mid-year 1967, roughly serial 121000-onwards, saw the change from magneto/monoblocs to distributor/concentrics. This applies to the 650SS, Atlas, N15, G15, 33 and P11.

My parts book gives no suffix for the 650SS, but the 750s all got 930/5 -/6 without air filter (home market) and 930/7 -/8 with air filter

Mine has magneto and is early 1967 model so I guess the 389 689 it is...I guess they had air cleaner.

The air cleaner on my '63 filtered only big leaves and small twigs.....so I took it off.

Agree- my 67 had the 389/689 monoblocs and mageneto. I switched out the monoblocs to Premieres.
