Can anyone identify this M/C sleeve kit?

Does the body still have the 5/8" bore? If so, the RGM kit should fit. I have installed quite a few of these kits for clients as i think RGM have stopped the installation service. I like these kits compared to the AN 13mm M/c as you can adjust the piston pusher to get maximum fluid movement hence a better lever feel. Find out if anyone on your side of the pond can do the install for you. The last time i looked the price from RGM was £49 excl. vat. Cheapest way to a much better brake

That’s a good question. Anyone know who can install a RGM kit in the U.S.? Re the 5/8 bore. . . I’m not sure. Have no way of accurately measuring it. I believe it is stock.

Currently, I am leaning toward the cNw Brembo solution. Even though I’ll loose the stock M/C look, it’s not horrible, and at least I can keep my switchgear and stock calipar. In the end, I believe I’ll have a better/more reliable brake.

Here’s a related question. . . How long is a braided SS brake hose good for? Mine’s 35 years old, and shows no outward sign of wear.

Mike,

I am pretty sure that Christopher West who is Fair Spares New England said that he had nothing to do with Phil Radford who was Fair Spares America
gforce,
I was just at th INOC rally and he was introduced to the dinner as the guy who bought FairSparesAmerica from Phil.He had to change the name as part of his buy-out.Just going on what was said.He also got the youngest rider award. I could be wrong but that is what I took away from the event

Re SS brake lines - the part you can see, the SS, will last a looonnnggg time under normal operating conditions. However the rubber part (OK it's not really 'rubber' but you know what I mean) can deteriorate internally, especially if the fluid has not been regularly changed. It can deteriorate/clog to the point where it reduces or even prevents release of the brake pressure after applying the brake.

I'd replace it unless you have had the bike the entire time and know that the brake fluid has beed flushed/refilled every year or two.

You will be very happy with the Brembo MC from CNW!

@YING don't shoot the messenger Mike, but something doesn't add up.

Christopher West posted this on one of the forums in December:

"I was recently informed that it was Speed and Sport that bought all of Phil's stock"

I bookmarked Speed and Sport, as I had never heard of them before.

G,
The guy I was posting about also had Phil’s old bike. I have no idea what to think about all of this but was not in any way trying to shoot the messenger. I tried to look up FairSpares New England and found nothing. I had been dealing with Phil for many years and was glad to see someone bought him out but now I don’t know what to think.

Good Morning,

I stand corrected. It was EBVC that bought everything from Phil. I only bought all the JPN stuff from Phil.

My website is Nortoncommando.com

Fare Spares New England shows up under the url “nortoncommando.com”. It’s a half-baked site with 2 pages of clutch cables, none of which are in stock. Nothing on the site works. I wish him well, but it’s probably not a good idea to go live with a site in this state of repair. Not a good look.

It’s looking like AN is the only place to find this part.
Your correct it is half baked site for now. But I am constantly on there learning the ropes of building a website from scratch. I have plenty in stock you can call me or text me 413 561 7575 also email me at cwest@Nortoncommando.com

Which one of Phil’s old bikes? There were many including my ‘72 I bought from him in ‘97. No the JPN in my avatar was not one of his.

Ah. I have a picture of that bike with the owner Phil bought it from….around 1982-84. I met Phil in 1981 when I joined the NCNOC.

That is cool. The red Norton "Snorts920" is now a 920 and has several mechanical upgrades from Phil. I no plans on doing anything with it other than enjoy it and show it. When I had a JPN 850 stationed in Hawaii I got all my parts and knowledge from him. I had the JPN for 17 years before I sold it to a friend and in turn bought Phil's bike and started a Norton Motorcycle and vintage Snowmobile Parts business as a hobby.
