Camshaft end play, tabbed thrust washer question

I intend to remove the tab and reuse the washer. I prefer not to rebush, bore, etc. Should I be considering using a thicker one piece thrust washer, or just go with the plan to remove the tab?
 
Yes ,the tab will have an invisible crack and might fall off into the engine . you need the washer , but not that locator tab. Enjoy.
