Need help on pricing of buying pistons (non-slotted) 750 standard bore, new rings with the new pistons (complete set with grudgon pins would be preferable), new crank nuts/bolts/tabs, new con-rod nuts/bolts, Engine has about 13K miles on it. Crank sludge trap was fairly clean. Slight scoring on the con -rod bearings, but hardly worn. Journals very clean, no scoring.

Looks like everything in UK is half the price of the US prices. Have not tried the AU or NZ prices. With the price of parts US vs. UK, looks like shipping will be a minor issue given I'm going to spend about $400USD.

I just need to know that I will be getting a good set of pistons/wrist pins/rings, good con-rod nuts/bolts and crank nuts/bolts.

I am starting with RGM, Hemmings, and Norvil. I have given up on the US dealers, they are well over twice the price. Any other prospects?

I think us US people are going to have to realise our standard of living has diminished (social commentary) sorry.

Anyone else done a rebuild like this recently?

I've done 3 in the last few months, and I've had very positive results with KNOWN name aftermarket stuff including JCC pistons. I've not heard of OEM rod bolts being anything but acceptable.

I guess I'm surprised that UK prices are so much lower than US; it's usually the other way around. Of course, as bad as the US dollar is lately, and UK pound sterling is really hurting. If I were sending my money to the UK, it would be to Mick Hemmings. In the States, I tend to favor Old Britts. FWIW/YMMV.
