No one has ever turned up any such documentation. I searched, since I own one but to no avail. It seems the only evidence is "I heard somewhere". It would seem that if Norton was making some overture to John Player there would be some documentation. It also seems the actual paint scheme would more closely resemble the scheme on the racer/replica.
As for any real extra value, there is none, since it's only paint, nothing else. That said I certainly like mine. It's a less common scheme.
