Battery confusion

I have had really good success with the normal Deltran battery tender and my Shorai ? 4 + years still going strong , when I get to 7 years probably buy another Shorai Battery , not their charger . I can't fault the Deltran at all .
Wow. With the SAE connection? I'm surprised simply because everybody states they need a specific tender. I still haven't searched for a lead in the frame under the seat. LOL I really should explore more. Tony, I may just try a Shorai then. The UNIT stays on a bit longer now key on. Up to 30 seconds. For years I haven't seen UNIT at all unless I forgot to hook up the tender. Pretty sure I have 4 years on this Yuasa lead acid.

Deltran has a Battery Tender that does LiFeP04 batteries as well now. Switchable AGM/flooded or Lithium . Buy that one if you are going to buy a Deltran Battery Tender and be getting a Lithium Iron (Shorai) battery. That's what I would do now.

Tony,
Doesn't Deltran also make their own Lithium Iron battery for motorcycles?

I have three Shorai batteries that are 4-6 years old. All are continuing to work very well. I keep each one on it's own Deltran Battery Tender Plus (approved by Shorai), and have the Deltrans connected to a power strip. That power strip is connected to a 7-day timer that runs 18 hours, one day per week. Lithium Ion batteries do not want to be at 100% all the time, and thus keeping the battery tender running all the time is not good maintenance, in my opinion.

You are doing the correct thing . And your timer and power strip sound like a great idea. This just goes to show us what abuse the Shorai can withstand . :)

Thanks. The power strip / 7-day timer set up has worked quite well for years. It's set-it-and-forget-it battery maintenance. I actually have 7 vehicles in my garage (2 cars + 5 motorcycles) and thus have 7 Deltran Battery Tender Plus units connected to that power strip. Three of the bikes have Shorai and two have lead acid batteries. The cars have lead acid batteries.
