Anybody know what this is?

Anybody know what this is?

A Ducati guy spotted this at Barber last weekend.

Anybody know who built it?

Dude, the same thing happens to me every time I try to print out the pics when I catch'em. Another example of their advanced technology. They're crafty.

It looks like a small white square with a red cross in it, very rare.

Ive only seen a few of these, they can be very anoying also.

Well worth the effort to see.

1. Place mouse over image representation.

1. Right click mouse.

2. Select "Open Image in New Tab," or equivalent command.

Or, I guess you just need to be signed in on the board to see the images. That's a guess, but I can see them now that I've signed in.

Well, If no-one else is going to help...

No, I haven't a clue what it is either, but I suspect Andy Molnar now has a better idea of where all his scrap castings got to ;)

Also note the interesting 'stealth' back brake and reverse-rotation back tyre!

Is it cast alloy ? Or a water colour painting ?

Where was it, looks like a pit somewhere.

Looks like a flat leather drive belt ?

thanks B+ I couldn't get the pics to open with my limited computer skills

Looks like a bike from a film set, you know, one of them that is dubbed over with the sound of a screaming four cylinder.

I've seen it before at some event. All it is is a life sized non working sculpture.

I don't know what you are using, but both OE and Mozilla can't open them :!:

Mozilla won't work, but for IE8, I right click on the empty image box and select Properties, I highlight the complete URL, click Copy >OK, then Paste the URL into the search box, and click Search, the photo then shows in a new widow.

When I close the window, the image has magically appeared in the empty message image box!

Isn't it easier to put them up in a photobucket account so we don't need to run to the store and back to see the images? I guess that is what is writtent in the "posting pictures stickie" isn't it?

The Logo and and the fact that it looks like the stand is welded to the frame gives it away. I like the concept and the execution, but I'd really love to have that motor when they're finished with it.

I've found out a little bit more about the bike.

It was built as a rolling piece of art by somebody, who also built one with a Matchless engine. I will find out the guy's name this weekend, as he's known to a local Combat owner I'll be seeing Saturday.

Sorry about the issues with the picture posting - I've never had this before.

Here's a link to the origin of the pics:

I like the hydraulically operated front quad brake, looks like a pretty novel vintage racing manx although from previous comments I guess it's only for show. Most vintage racers downplay the need for back brakes for roadracing, that's where I disagree with them every time.

I'll tell you what, unless there are no pistons, valves and timing gear inside those cases, i'd sure like a day to fettle with it and another day with it out on the track. Barber's would be an excellent choice of venues!

I saw a '68 Ducati GP bike yesterday. The most impressive thing for me was the front brake - Fontana 4 leading-shoe in a finned magnesium hub.

Pure artwork.

I will see this one again, and remember to bring my camera.
