Radar gun's in vans will not catch you [no front plate to read] Gatso ...a couple of coats of Spray...and it works! What Spray :?: It's a Tenner from most bike show's...Doe's it work...Yes! It's a micro cristal base that scatters light.... AND BEFORE ALL YOU GET ALL RIGHT AND LAWFULL! a 80 quid fine for doing 35.. .well its just tax revenue...Nothing but robbery!!!!!

Mythbusters did a whole show on this very subject, nothing short of going over 200 miles per hour or flipping the plate worked, sprays, films... all garbage. There is however a very legal way NOT to get tickets, just obey the traffic laws

If Mythbusters had found a method to avoid radar cameras they wouldn't have aired that episode... which means one of those methods may work, they just weren't going to tell us.

Well, I don't beleive in conspirations, if anything worked, it would be viral on the internet, as it is now, only the snake oil salesmen are saying it does work

A Swiss multi-millionaire just got a $210,000 fine. He was doing 85 in a 35 zone in his Porsche. I think the report said it was his 85th speeding ticket in 3 years. Apparently, they have a law that allows fines to be set at a level commensurate with the miscreant's wealth.

I think the report was either BBC on line or the Daily Telegraph on line.

In the UK, they have camera vans that just stop and set up on the side of the road. All the UK speed cameras are owned an operated by private companies under contract to the local Police forces and get a slice of the th fines.

The Daily Telegraph reported that a car with four young men riding in it spotted a camera van and stopped. As three of them kept the operators busy in conversation, the fourth removed the front licence plate from the van. They then drove out of sight, installed the plate on their car and then passed the camera van at high speed several times.

The speed camera company was very suprised to get several tickets on their own vehicle.

Now wouldn't you think that someone paying $210,000 for a speeding ticket would be smart enough to have sprayed his plate with magic paint  especially after being caught so many times, makes you wornder doesn't it

Owning and operating a merc sprinter as its perils...they do 40 with no effort..so as i live in speed camera's ville...i have to keep my eye on the speedo to often...might get a ticket one day for driving without due care :!: so i had a  I removed a big horse chesnut leaf from our tree and glued it on the plate...no one can read it....and there is not a court in the land can do me because i have picked up a stray leaf..it's nature ...leaves have sticy sap...dont they. and it wasnt there when i started off...officer...Honest

Tell us if you have internet access from a jail cell

Suppose this wont help but with the fixed speed cameras you need to pop a huge mono. Better if you have an old H2 or 1000cc jap bike. I believe also that at 270 mph the cameras are to slow mmm turbo, nitrous, methanol. Probably more believeable it is a british bike therefore spray oil on plate and a bit of dust.

I know of a bloke who works on the theory that since you don't own the number plate, it is in theory at least surrenderable, then you shouldn't be responsible for washing it, he claims not to have washed his since he bought his commando - new.

Better to check local laws as far as cleaning the license plate. Here (Québec) the plates (cars) do get very dirty in winter and sometimes covered with snow, there is an article of law saying the plate must be visible, if not then it's a $100 fine. The only thing the lawmakers have not so far thought of is when hauling bicycles with a rear carrier, then my plate is quite invisible, the sad part is I don't want to go fast with bicycles hung on the back

I use country roads to go real fast, and I think that is crap that police use radar and a camera, they are so lazy and so hard up for money, it is unbelievable. When I turned 18 my dad wanted to correct lots of things he told me when I was a kid and 1 of then was do not trust police, he always told me to respect and obey police and blah blah blah, but he never did and I totally understand why. Just thinking about it makes me upset. Anyways sorry you have had bad things with the whole speeding tickets and what have you. I have not been to Europe yet and if you have any fun areas to go ride I would appreciate if you posted on my online map. Just follow the links below. Thanks. I am an affiliate of allstate and that is why the titles are what they are. Thanks again and good luck with avoiding the police.

The irony of a person affiliated with an insurance company and post the above is just too rich.

long time ago, when I was in my early 20's I learned some cops weren't in it to uphold their oath.

About 7pm, on a warm summer evening, I was riding my beloved '69 bonneville on the ramp that merges chicago's lake shore drive into the stevenson expressway. As I came out of the turn with the other southbound traffic, everybody was going about 60, in a 45 mph zone. Immediately, a cop on the shoulder ahead of me turns his blue light on, and signals me to pull over, which I did, about 200 feet up the road.

As soon as I had my helmet off, I was told I was going "way too fast", but not any specific speed. When I replied that I was just keeping up with traffic, I was told to "shut da f**k up", and I was going to be taken in if I did not cooperate. The situation soon evolved into me being offered a chance to "settle it right here" for $40. Naturally, I quickly and quietly gave into the extortion. And though I only had $37 on me, the officer happily sent me on my way. True story.

Now you do realize that you said this was in Chicago? You understand that not all of the US is as corrupt as that fair city. I mean not just anywhere can a junior Senator with basically no expirence get to be President.

Dave, do you think things would've worked out better if it was granpa and arctic barbie?

Chicago... isn't that where Rod Blagojevich came from :?: and without forgetting Richard Joseph Daley mayor and mafia boss... who took Al Capone's spot in more legal way

The last time I paid a bribe was in Acapulco in 1975, I forced a yellow light and a couple of cops on Harleys gave chase, they said the fine was 40 pesos (at the time $3.20) and since everything is up for bargaining there, I gained my freedom for 20 pesos
