Almost- there were the Honda stands with a rubber toe to make the stand flip back rather than dig in.
And Another Bit Breaks....
 
Every sensible owner of a British bike should carry a piece of fencing wire, or at least a pair of pliers, so they can get some in an emergency. With experience, you always know where to look for some. But do not take any which has insulators hanging off it. The cattle might escape and cause motorcycle crashes.

Baler twine is what we use in th Uk
 
Time to get a new spring then. Zip-ties are only there to get you home without taking the bolt and nut off and now you got to stow the bloody thing. Find a suitable tree to perch your ride on....Or use your centre stand.
