Amal MK1 Pilot jet and 4S Camshaft

Chris, my Seeley for the track is equipped with MK 2 34, they were fitted when I bought it, and they work very well, so I didn't touch them.

KiwiShane, I want to check the float level of this MK 2 of 34 for this Commando S with which I never drive very fast, so I will probably never be at full throttle.

But I haven't found anything yet on the tank level for MK 2...Even on Burlen website.
So if your not inspired to get the full use out of the cam you have in your engine (un sure if any porting or CR modification work done) with the single mk Ii you won't have any synchronization or balancing of float level issues...and from what you say you will be a happy camper

Odd thing Shane but it was only with the single 34mm Amal Mk2 fitted that my 850 wasnt a good starter with. I brought it off Sam & he had the same problem. The heavy chrome slides stop them sticking. I had always used the light grey slides until then as it was a heavy throttle.
I run a pair of 34mm on the proddie, 34mm & 36mm smoothbore on the 750 & 960 Seeleys.

Never had a problem with sticking slides with the smooth bore carbs...idle adjustment was a pain with out idle screws for a quick touch up and seemed a bit harder to tune (that could just be me :) ) but all they seemed to be good instruments admittedly i didn't do many miles as a bike shop got hold of me and offered me a deal I couldn't refuse for a set of new stock 34 mm mkIIs and some other bits in pieces...as they needed them for a race project...the Grey anodized slides gave me trouble (sticking) ...I set up the chokes up on cables up to the stock handle bar lever...first kick i would get a fire take off the chokes second kick it would start ....

KiwiShane, the link you gave is very important...

"According to one Triumph service bulletin, the upper float surface should be parallel with the joint face."

I have to begin by this way. Thanks !
