Aluminum Rims

The rim will probably corrode again as its often the conditions of use and storage that cause this. Consider coating the inner parts with a protectorant , ACF50 ? allowed to dry thoroughly perhaps. I had three punctures caused by chrome flakes ( that were almost too small to see ) that came from a 20 year old chrome rim . Duct tape now instead of rim tapes .
I use silver spray paint. 🏁😎

I used to use duct tape but now believe it can contribute to increased moisture/corrosion of the rim. I now use the self sealing silicone harness tape as it adheres to itself but not the rim.

Duct tape is horrid shit. Only for use on shit you're going to throw away later.

I've had good results using this product from Aircraft Spruce. They first concocted it to polish an entire DC 3. It worked very well on the DC3 so they decided to put the stuff in tins and sell it.

Yes I've used this stuff on the alloy rims as well as for general polishing on alloy tanks , cases and covers etc. There is a bigger tin available as well.

Stiff steel bristle wire brush, pressed and pulled/pushed IN LINE with those serrations, after whatever solvent seems to soften that stuff
