I got one from RGM i think if i remember it only cost about £20. It works fine no need to spend lots more money on some of the more fancy alternatives. I mounted it under coil bracket where ballast resistors once lived (Boyer ignition) by using two longer bolts to mount the bracket the go through the holes in the unit to after a little dressing with a file. Simple to fit and wire up an hides well looking like it was always ment to be there.
cheap and replaces a lot of original Lucas odds and ends
I waited over three months for my Alton and it is now at my age and health the best upgrade, wonderful to push the button and hold it hardly no more than one full second and it fires right up every time, love it
Merry Xmas.
On my Mk111, I replaced the standard starter with the Alton starter motor, left the the Zener's alone.
Previously I'd put a Tri-spark system on, now No Problems.

As far as I know PODtronics offers a 120W single phase and a High Power 200W single phase regulator. To be sure I fitted the POD HP 200W to my Alton kit.
Hmm, well maybe I should of bought the 200w version. I dont know at what revs the Alton alternator develops its output. I think I should be fairly safe , if it shits itself then I'm in for an upgrade.
