Alternative kick start levers

Thanks Jean, I had seen yours when following your build posts and that's what gave me the idea that it might work on a Commando set up with rearsets. Do you realy think the RGM lever would clear a straight shift lever pivoting off the Z plate? Thanks, Glenn.

when the kick start lever gets all the way down, it tends to fold.

That's one of the problems with this type of leaver, it can be reduced when the hinge is behind the shaft. Try tightening up the hinge I found it helped, however, in the end I made up a new boss.

I measured it today. It's about 1 1/4".
