If you haven't, consider talking to a doctor about it. I had a similar issue about 8 years ago and when I finally talked to a doctor about it, I was in the ER with a team around me working to keep me alive.
??????? Heat exhaustion is pretty common. I caught it in time, never really near passing out.

You're absolutely right if it's really just heat exhaustion and you don't blow your heart in the process. In my case, the heat exhaustion was being caused by internal bleeding. When my BP went to 50 over 30 and my heart rate went to 135 (normally below 50) I knew it wasn't just heat exhaustion - would have sworn it was before that.

I'm no doctor but in my experience, heat exhaustion has no lasting effects - had it several times when I was a lot younger.

Men, especially American men think: "Just rub some dirt on it and keep working". That thinking almost got me two times and did get me once (obviously was revived).

105F for four hours of fairly strenuous work - yes, heat exhaustion!

I've since resurrected my Port-A-Cool giant shop fan, and religiously drinking water and resting.

Watch out for signs of low salt in blood. Can happen easily if in heat, drinking only water. Try the sport type drinks, Gatorade or the low, no sugar types.

We had a young guy on our long distance sail boat racing crew complain one day he was feeling dizzy, drinking loads of water but was still thirst. I told him to try sports drink and in 30 min he was fine again.

THIS SUCKS only getting to work half-days when I need to be working LONG days to get everything squared away for my 66th bash...
Get done what you can without over doing it- far more important to those who care for you that you make it to enjoy your 66th year and beyond than have all neat and tidy .

I'm 81 now, and the heat dome over SoCal has really cut into my ability to work outside on the property, not to mention seriously impacting my riding time. It just isn't any fun to be out riding in the mid-day heat right now. Fortunately, I'm only talking about heat in the 90+ F range, not the 100+ some of you are enduring. I can still work in the shop fairly comfortably with the fans on. On the other hand, I certainly don't have anything like the endurance and stamina I had 10 years ago. The downhill run does seem to be getting steeper now that I'm past 80. But life is still there to be lived, and I'm grateful to still be able to enjoy it.

Cooling vests are quite effective while riding and even just walking about off bike.

Yep, Gatorade is the new hydration medium of choice.

I hear the lemon flavor makes a decent Margarita mixer...

Sound advice.
I pulled an 8 day stint in ICU from 12 and 15 hour days working outside and most always 100 degrees plus.
It creeped up on me and the next thing I knew I was being loaded into a helicopter.
Residual effects lasted a long time, as in months.
