A tiny bit of anxiety ?

Take some brave pills Grandma, and have a good lie down.

With a casualty list well over the 100+ riders mark though, the IoM around-the houses course would appear to be a 'circuit' not to be taken lightly.
Don't they say it takes 7 years to learn well enough to go fast.
And any mistake along the way could well be fatal, quite literally, at those speeds...

That could give an old man a heart attack or stroke, especially on dampened conditions which could take about the young ones. So did ya catch the places of lost opportunity of staying on power and the few yds to gain on each turn by different lines through. The heat flow to sustain such speed is nerve wracking too. Like gladiators for the Roman circus.

You forgot to mention the gladiators were in chariot races. ?
Nothing new under the sun. ?
Although the motive power may vary....

At first gladiators were slaves and captured people killed for entertainment but ran out after Romans conquered so much area then developed into status for wealthy to invest in their own fighters with contracts. It takes a intense state to be competitive in deadly sports, wonder if I'd be up to it. I have sort of practiced for IOM , getting used to close passes to rock faces and trees lines and making a run here and there with least let offs feeling for hints of loss of control to know right on the edge of being a blood sport.
