A few questions

my MK3 taillight assembly went together with the "special bolt" then washer then bracket then spacer then fender then washer under fender then nut
I used a custom SS counter sunk oval shaped washer type thing that with a bit of machining can be fashioned to fit into and support the taillight moulding

Your special bolt looks a little shorter than mine but the spacer looks thinner as well
The wheels should be in line whatever method you use to achieve that but if it's not spoked right it could be a worry
The electrics can be fairly confined in places but while you are at it do yourself a favour and replace all the bullet connectors you can as the genuine ones are crap

In my post I was assuming everything was to spec on the frame and not bent. As I remember, even the Phantom Oiler didn't think all the work was worth it? There's enough slop in these bikes out of the factory a couple of mm here and there I doubt is going to make any difference unless it's just an anal thing or there is some racing methodology behind it. As far as riding down the country roads to enjoy yourself....

Hi DogT, I'm not talking about bent frames here. Sadly the mis alignment was how they came out of the factory. When I checked my frame absolutely nothing was as it should have been. The difference in handling before and after makes it all very worth while. 0.020" here and 0.030" there soon add up to unacceptable mis alignment between front and rear. It's not an anal thing, as you put it, just getting the bike to what the original design would have been. Production methods and quality control made sure most of them where 'sloppy'.

Nothing better than riding down country roads - using all the tyre in the bends. I like to get my monies worth out of tyres.
