In my opinion, a well done NEW TRITON

961 TRITON

Very nice indeed. I thought about it myself for a while (have a thruxton in my garage, and at first sight and measurements, it seems like a pretty straightforward engine swap). I have sent an e-mail to the guys from Britalmoto once to ask for some additional info. They would be happy to help with the conversion, but it included some permanent frame modifications. Permanent mods are a no-go for me :)

The triumph twin engine is easy to tune and rock solid. Would be a very nice bike to ride.

Nice and clean, but doesn't interest me very much. WAY too much money involved to get to that point.

That is seriously a waaaay cool ride, but why would anyone want to drop from 80 to 68 HP. Also, that Taiwanese motor, although very reliable, is just a bit "vanilla". The Norton motor has some serious old school grunt by comparison.

Those Taiwanese motors can be tweaked, bored, stroked, to a reliable circa 100bhp according to some US tuning houses.

Where does one acquire a frame from ? Do Norton sell them separately ?

i am sure there was a donor bike. hell, most dealer s don’t have much more then oil filter in stock, and that is due to the same filter is used in the triumphs models.... didn’t realize the triumph motors are mad win asia ?? sad to hear.

Yes, the modern ones are well engineered etc, but I was asking about Tritons with old dry sump Triumph motors in the 961 frame, I wasn't clear in my post.

One thing that does interest me on that custom is the exhausts. Are they old Norton ones? They look good!
