And I'm guilty of the opposite. Having owned my MKII since new, I oiled the swingarm every time I changed the rear tire. It leaked out, of course.I'm afraid I'm guilty of the other extreme
I once left my swing arm bushings un oiled for ages
The pin went rusty and wore out ,this was complete lack of maintenance on my part
The MKII has a unique swingarm, with felt wicks and welsh plugs like the MKIII but also with a central fixing bolt like earlier models. Somewhere around 30,000 miles I took it apart for service and found it to be as clean and slippery as the day it was born. I still oil it once in a while... and watch it drip out.
