72 Commando - rear wheel reassembly

Hi,

I'm reassembling a rear wheel after replacing the bearings - can anyone tell me which way the bearing spacer (BEARING SPACER - INNER part-no: 06.2069) that sits inside/between the 2 (pn #4203) wheel bearings is installed? The spacer has a 'long' side and a 'short' side, so if I'm looking at the Cush side of the wheel is the long side of the spacer passing through that bearing or is it the short?

FYI - a significant portion of this bike was disassembled about 20 years ago, otherwise I would have better notes an how things were taken apart. The Andover-Norton diagrams are very helpful, but sometimes you cant quite tell even while looking at the exploded drawing.

The 'short' end goes on the cush/brake side.
