When you say you’ve “put the plugs back to the BP5ES” do you mean you’ve put the old plugs back in ?

Thanks for all your help. I pulled the carbs off again and a bit of swarf/slight blockage in air screw valve was removed. But I think the biggie was the pilot jet not screwed home was out about half a turn. Bikes running pretty good. Did about a 60mile run on country roads. I get a little bit of oil weeping from the left header pipe/exhaust at junction with the head not much but it is there. Any ideas. Bikes off the road at the moment as I’ve sent the speedo and tachometer away to be rebuilt.

I thought I had that oil weep issue. It turned out to be a leak from the rocker cover. Flatting the cover mating surface and a new gasket sorted it.

My 850 had that leak. Did the rocker cover flatting, new silicone gaskets, locktite on the cover stud threads into head (these can draw oil up and outside). Also fit a crankcase pressure reed valve. These helped for a bit but the seep returned. Ultimately, the headgasket blew (copper). Now running a composite HG and no leaks there.
