Hi again everyone my exhaust front pipes are not the standard balanced pipes but are I believe earlier commando pipes unbalanced and fitted to pea shooters I had to remove my right side down pipe and when doing so 2 collets and a domed washer fell out and I did not see how or in which order or position to install them there is no gasket and the system was not leaking before I interfered with it could someone please explain to me in which order and position I need to replace them in please see pics sorry for the dumb Q but my manual simply says replace as removed nothing about falling out, I have some pics of what I have but do not seem to be able to find a way to post them help in that direction would also be appreciated many thanks Chris

Andover Norton web site for 75 850 should show the parts and sequence

Although not the original balanced system it sounds as if it probably has flared end Mk3 pipes with spherical seatings and collets.

If so, then the spherical seating goes into the head first, then the flared pipe followed by the collets and lockring.
The Mk3 assembly has no gaskets/crush washers.

Only VIP members can upload pictures here. Non-VIPs must use an image-hosting website such as https://postimages.org/ or other, etc.
More info on how to do that if you need it.

Hi again LAB I assume the spherical seating is male side out but the collets have a ridge is that ridge facing in or out many thanks Chris

I assume the spherical seating is male side out

Yes, flat side to the head, so the contour of the pipe flare seats against the spherical side.

but the collets have a ridge is that ridge facing in or out

Out, so the ridges locate into the lockring and the wider section against the outside face of the pipe flare.

The collets can be held in position in the lockring with grease as the lockring is screwed in.

Also, the Mk3 parts book has the spherical seating and collet listed incorrectly as item 32 on the drawing is the spherical seating and 31 is the collet (although often broken into two pieces).
