1974 Harley Sportster questions

why not? another member was using it as his business advertising medium!! besides that I am sure that your build quality is FAR better.

I am in the middle of a Matchless G15 resto which I have posted some photos of on here and don't want to monopolise the site with my build threads.

A build thread would be great. :D

I had a 1970's iron head Sportster in the mid 80's, good bike and still like the look of them, it was the one I took the world record for Harley Davidson pole vaulting (when a muffler came out of the header and pivoted off the mount down into the road)
The AMF days.

Bill, that's exactly what I want to avoid, I also recall feeling let down when occasionally a build thread peters out without any satisfactory conclusion, as they say the last ten percent takes ninety percent of the time and effort, hence the proliferation of 'unfinished projects' for sale.

I think the forum is somewhat like a club night down the pub, if one of the guys does all the talking it soon gets boring and disuades others from contributing. I was lucky enough to win the most improved competition one year so I feel that my bike projects have had more than "a fair suck of the sauce bottle" as our Aussie cousins say.

I will post a couple of preliminary shots when I return to California, probably at Easter, although I also hope to actually run my Matchless G15 round the block if I can finish constructing the wiring loom and battery tray.

Thank you all for the encouragement, which is one of the great things about this forum.
