1974 Commando "Wake-Up" / "Make-Run"

Took it out for a spin, everything works except the tach which is due to the cable nut not reaching all the way down and/or the drive shoulder threads worn. I'll figure out how to secure it. Goes thru the gears nicely, no kickstarter droop. I'll take it for a proper test-ride after lunch...

It settled in to a nice steady tickover.

The oil drips are from the idiotic "chain oiler". What a mess...

Several people mentioned that, but you need to know that my son only has one finger on his left hand, so cannot "hold" the left handlebar. So he cannot balance the bike to start it otherwise. As it is, he has a hard time pulling in the clutch to operate it, but he manages. We are working on prosthetic solutions.

So, we put the kickstand on the higher side of the sloped driveway and I instructed him to keep his weight to the right side of the bike.

The frame will not be hurt, not to worry.
