I had to rotate them down to fit in the truck, but looking at the photo's a quick 180 and they would be clubmans.

I like the paint, just too bad the Norton decal is so low on the tank.

PS- It's posts like this that make me want another bike. I think to myself, gee whiz, I only have one Norton, which is done and rideable and I love it, but this guy has THREE! Mabye I should get another one. Then I look at the list of things I want/need to do to my 850........and sigh.

Have fun with it.

Ben

It was a summer of dumb luck. My 850 is years and $$$$ away from the road. A cold call from a cl AD NETTED THE COMBAT, AND THIS 850 belonged to a former co-worker. Dam caps lock. So first order of business is to cleanup the combat, it runs, needs to be painted and some parts replaced. Then this 850 will get my current 850 serialized parts and all the dunstall pieces. So the plan is to have the combat done in the spring and the dunstall by summers end. then I caan get back to the custom 850.

PM's sent. I will be out of town until sunday night and will have sparatic internet until then. I'll try to check in when I can.

I know what you mean. This is what the 66 Atlas, the 71 Commando, and the 72 AJS all within a month cost me!!! lol Now as far as the kids we have 7. (two separate marriages). A 12 year old girl, 2 10 year old boys, 2 8 year old boys, a 5 year old girl, and a 2 year old boy. I am trying to teach them that cleaning 40 year old Norton parts is a privlage and a honor, but they are not buying into it just yet. lol

So I started tearing it down this morning. I have a sell pile and a keep pile. Pulled the primary cover off and...... I's like new in there. The 2 dowl pin bosses are broken, hence the nos inner primary that came with it, and the stator has a little insulation missing, hence the new stator. But the chain is perfect, so I don't know why I found a new one of those. Poured liberal amounts of wd40 in the plug holes, Threw a wrench on the rotor nut and amazingly it turned over nicely. So the outside looks like hell and the inside so far looks new. Now to finish dissasembly, repair the front downtubed (note: 5th frame I have had that has at one point had hyway bars on it, WHY?????) so far the worst dammage. Once the frame is fixed I can start cleaning and painting and reassembling with my stockpile of parts from my 73 850. I took some if the nice sell parts and used them on the combat and took the combat parts to sell. It all works out somehow. I'll get some pictures up late tonight for you Swoosh!
