I came across the cam survey on the Atlantic green site, when looking for data on my X 2 cam.

only has a little Noris info http://atlanticgreen.com/camsurvey.htm

I called Megacycle, for a company that sells things, the lady on the phone was not very friendly and seemed that I was bothering her. She said they have all the info in the archives, but would have to go look it up. I asked if she could e-mail it to me, but was told they don't have the technology!!!!! She could fax or snail mail it. Last time I checked it was 2011, right? And scanners are relativly cheap. So i'm waiting on snail mail, but not holding my breath.

Machined the bars for my mirrors yesterday. Also mounted them, the Acewell and worked some more on the fairing.

I'm a little puzzeled by the Mag 10 or 70 cam. A nice guy on ebay has a norris catalog and has been kind enough to look up the info. Mine dosn't match up with any listed. Intake on mine is .340" lift and exhaust is .380" lift. nowhere near the drag numbers. Maybee some time ago it was and it has been reground. I need to degree it to try to match it better. I'll try out my new degree wheel this week. The info I recieved on the N750R cam was spot on, concidering it's worn state.

That's a strange cam you have. It's pretty unusual for a Norton cam to have more lift on the exhaust than on the intake.

The values I posted are from an old Norris catalog I have. I'll see if I can scan the page and post it.

This is page 10 from Norris' 1976 catalog, showing their Norton grinds.

Keep in mind that Norris lifts are quoted at the valve unless otherwise stated. All the Norton lifts in the catalog are at the valve. Many of the Norton cam profiles on the internet, including Atlantic Green and the NOC site, are lift at the cam. To compare them, you need to multiply or divide by the rocker arm ratio, 1.13, and add or subtract the tappet clearance, depending on which way you are converting.

Thanks for the info, after converting, it is a Magnum 70, which should work well in my setup. It shows an 850 street reference.

My torington needle bearings arrived today, I'm going to attempt the removable cam mod. I lile it as an option. I contacted Megacycle about purchasing the kit and was told by the receptionist that one part of it was hard to get and the guy that makes the kit never wanted to hear about it again. I guess they don't want the sale.

I fabbed up my intake tonight, i'll post some pictures in the morning. Turned out nice, just have to cut the plate to size and do some cleanup work.

It's morning. The plate was the cutout from my trans cradle, hece the odd shape and holes.

Ordered Air filters, bunch of rod ends and accessories, fuel filters and some tooling. Been selling off more parts. Going good so far. Finishing up a bunch of little projects as time permits. I have to get this pontoon boat repair done and out of the shop before I can get back to the bike. I'm giong tomorrow to look at a brace of Honda trail 70's that a guy wants running/restored. Only two major parts left to purchase, rods and pistons. And I can't do that until I figure out my final measurments. Plus i'm trying to throw my Yamaha back together. Got the HID wiring run and powersupply mounted. only 2 wires left to hook up. Then on to the 2nd caliper mount and i'll be done with it. About 4 hours on the milling machine should do it.

Neat Norris find Ken, thanx I saved the photo.

The Only time more lift &/or duration on exhaust side is a benefit is in super charger or turbo applications that simply over power less intake valve lift-duration. I may want to dicker with you on it to try in Peel, if it don't work out for you.

How did you mount the digi gauge gizmo? Photo please?

Actually i'm dealing right now for a SS cam, or 2. The megacycle will be for sale soon.

Here-s the acewell mounted.

Sorry I mean how it was physically held in place underneath, not the view of its face. I liked my 2S cams, down low and cruising, but especially past 6500...

Just one bolt in the hole that used to hold the clipon from rotating. The acewell comes with a single hole bracket attached. So I bent it and bolted it on.

Rod ends arrived. I haVE LOTS OF SPARES NOW. i'M GOING TO MAKE UP SOME WELD ON KITS IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED. Dam fingers and caps lock. Air filters and couplers arrived. carbs are almost done, probably another hours work and I can check them off. The filters I bought are crap. So i'l look for some new ones. Slow progress now. Too many other priorities now.

Rod ends! Weld on kits, cool! Got a rear-rump version figured out?

Ok so the digi meter has a handy threaded hole in bottom, clever.

OH yeah, nice manifold construction tedium, hope the other chores go smooth to get back to what matters long term.

I now have to figure out some sort of cush drive for my harley hub. I think I have a design in my head that will work. I'll machine up some parts, get another bearing and see how it goes.. I don't want to start breaking transmission parts.

Here is a primitive sketch, I wish I knew how to use AutoCad.
I would also add curved slots in the retainer at each potted block.

The retainer will be held in with countersunk screws. the blocks will be potted in with a hard rubber substance. There will be curved slots in the retainer to allow for movment. And an extra wheel bearing in the sprocket for stability.

Any comments or suggestions. I can't change hubs at this point, i've allready machined the hub I have and ordered spokes. I'm past the point of change.
