So the right rear exhaust mounting tab has broken at the drilled hole. Tried welding it back together using some mild steel support pieces. Held for a few hundred miles and has now broken again. Have there been suggestions as to how to strengthen this tab? I think that it now needs replacement rather than continued patching. Any thoughts on material, technique, hints, tips, etc ?

Thanks......

Reynolds 531 tubing should not be MIG or arc welded as this can overheat the alloy and weaken it. These frames were "brazed" with a torch and SifBronze rod. I understand that a careful welder can use a Tig torch. I have used mild steel to replace brackets with good success, using a torch and standard brass rod.
Perhaps the problem is poor fit of the current aftermarket pipes. This may be putting too much stress on the bracket. Let's hope Mike Partridge can get those pipes made from Jerry Kaplan's originals on the market soon!

On a hi pipe P11, does anybody know what the clamps that hold the mufflers to the pipes (and possibly the frame also) look like? any pics and or part #s would be much appreciated.
thanks

Part no. 02-5059. Just a plain 1 3/4" clamp. Uses a long bolt and spacer to the frame.
