1961 99 Dominator 600cc Performance Engine Build Advice

Just a small correction to the above . the 88 and 99 used the same identical conrods so the crank journals are the same size . Journal size was increased for the works racers, the 650/750 motors and I hear a one off special Nomad 600 !. Have to see that to believe it. Interestingly the bigger journals were first used on the couple of Unit construction 650's that Bracebridge St Norton built in the late 1950's but never went into production . One of these now runs very well in an AMC chassis . The other is not quite as comfy in a featherbed. With a bit of developement they would have made a far better motor for the commando with a short stroke ,one piece crank and fixed primary drive centers. And beaten the current Unit construction bikes ( and unit Bonny ) by many years. Mind you if AMC had not been so blinkered and gone that route perhaps the Brilliant lash up Commando / Atlas combo would not have been needed at all to rescue the finances from 68 to 75 .
