A friend has a 1916 Henderson four-cylinder motor cycle engine and is curious what it might be worth. Kenny Anderson guys out there that would know?

Condition is everything.
What does it look like and run like ?

Value is relative. Sold privately, the seller and buyer just have to agree a price.
Sold in the local auctioneeers sale, price could be anything.
Sold in Bonhams or Meecums sale, the sky is the limit.
Condition is everything....

No need to tell you they are somewhat rare, and highly collectible.
THE holy grail for some collectors.
A new one (bike) found still in a crate sold for a very considerable sum of $$$.
And totally restored bike likewise...

Yes Rohan condition is everything. This one was literally saved minutes before being scrapped at a junkyard. It had like many engines of its time been turned into farm machinery and powered a water pump for many years. It is missing the carburetor, magneto and sadly the transmission was cut off to attach the water pump directly. The man who owns it is a world respected vintage Indian motorcycle restorer so he's no stranger to this kind of motor having completely rebuilt many Indian four cylinders. He just realizes he has enough projects and will probably never get around to doing this motor up like it should be.
