$20K BAT MKIII

I STARTED to list a very nice resto/mod on BAT, but I was informed that only THEIR staff could do the actual write-up.

"Never mind"
I was recently interested in understanding their policies and was informed that , yes they write it up, but in collaboration with the seller after photos are sent and the listing and terms are negotiable and agreed upon before they accept the listing. e.g they will not accept a reserve listing in excess of what they reasonably expect it could sell for. I expect the buyer to of this sale to back out and get blacklisted. He doesn’t know what he is doing. Why would anyone bid twice a bike’s value?

I backed out in the middle of signing up/listing. Yes, they will do the wrteup - they basically all look about the same and say little of merit but are obviously good at marketing. Their other revenue stream is them doing it all including sending a photographer to take "professional" pictures. I have a bridge for sale if you think they have photographers on staff that they fly around the country - they call a local dude, pay him to take pictures and charge like it's important.

Here's what I was able to learn on their site.

You pay $99 to list, plus $330 they send a photographer - you submit - they write - you accept - they auction. If it doesn't sell you're out $99 or $429 if you choose to have them take pictures.
or
White Glove - if you need to know the price, you can't afford it!

Buyer pays 5% (min $250, Max $7500)

You and the buyer workout the shipping or you use BAT shipping service. You can also pay them to handle the title transfer and such.

I'm not saying any of it is bad, but when I have a hard time figuring out what something will cost me, and I'm still not sure I have it figured out - I generally walk away.
