I know it's only a small picture, but the 'blower' doesn't appear to be connected to the carbs...

Are we sure it's not just a big alternator?!?

Here's some background. There's a fully tested upgraded later model adj belt Drouin available now from Bruce McGregor on this forum - its the one shown kick starting in video. Tom Drouin in cohoots financially with TC Christensen brought forth about 5 versions most mean for all the popular American, British and Japan 750+cc of the era. They got a bad reputation for holding belts on, burning bearings and killing pilots with Lake Injector slide sucked tight to stick way open boosting them to their end.

But, as Fast Eddie pointed out, it looks like it has a carb, or carbs and manifold on the head, so maybe the Drouin isn't connected. Hard to tell for sure from the picture, but it doesn't look right to me.

So, I just just zoomed the pic for a closer look, and it definitely has a carb, not connected to the Drouin.

Lake INjectors worked a treat on unboosted bikes but had sticking issues with the blower so most put on after market carb. It may or may not be for the timid unless seeking wheelie on tap in 4th and can be careful not to twist the guts of of AMC gear box. Here's one trigger happy friend post from 7-8 yr ago...

>> I just took the bike out for it's first run around the block. It runs great! I have to wait for colder plugs or I would have never come home. It takes a bit getting use to working the fuel shut off but I am getting the hang of it. Other than a little bit of fuel spill now and then it is a great mod. The sound of the blower can be heard inside my fullface Shoie helmet and over the boom of the Dunstall silencers. I still have to do some polishing and replace one of my original leaking petcocks but this thing is awesome. I have always wanted an 850 Commando and I never would have even imagined I could have a supercharged one. I will send photos when it is completed to my satisfaction but let me tell you this. I ride a nitrous injected Honda 996 Superhawk as a daily ride and I have a few GP race bikes but nothing, I repeat NOTHING!! stirs my soul like this setup. The only other mod will be a steering damper because the bike lifts up in every gear now and it upsets the steering and a gunfighter seat from Corbin to keep me from sliding off the back of the bike when I twist the throttle. In closing all I can say is YEEEEEHAWWWWWWWW!!!!

That poor little transmission! I wonder if it is all still together and running?

Maybe I wasn't clear enough. The Drouin is not connected to the intake. The engine has two carbs that look like Amals bolted on to the cylinder head with conventional intake manifolds. The supercharger is not operational. Grab the full size pic from the link and blow it up to 300% or so, and you can clearly see two carbs in the normal Commando location.
