Hi Mak , That is very good ! 20 Liters is over 5.2 US Gal , my tank is nowhere near that . Maybe 17 liters until brimmed . Did you recently get this tank and are TAB 2 making them larger now ?

It is a slightly different shape but also the wall thickness is a lot less, my old tank seemed to be very thick in places. Will cut it half and have a look.

I'd say mine is 17-18 litres at a guess but I do know I'm not getting 200 miles per fill. I did 1k miles at the TT this year and I reckon I was getting about 150 ish.

I wish that was true....it's still dirty from the TT

Manx flies on the front, etc

Just got round to cutting my old plastic 961 tank, the one full of blebs.
It’s wall thickness is 7mm which will reduce the internal capacity quite significantly.

Very good mpg ! I have verified this , since my re-map I can get 200 miles before needing to fill up and I put in 4 USG .

I could "maybe" get that but I'd be very very nervous.

That said, it's better than my Ducati V4....I can ride for about 40 mins before it needs filled. Makes long rides REALLY long!

No suprise that we are getting different ranges from these beautiful tanks as no two are the same - literally.

I was corresponding with Richard recently, seeing if he had any drawings/measurement of the top of the tank - in particular the position of the cap ring. His response below outlines the true hand built nature of these tanks. Top bloke - top product!

Can’t find a tank protector that I like the look of so using PPF currently. Looking to get a leather tank strap made that will help do the job. Not for everyone of course, but I also like the aesthetic. I’ll post some pics when the design is finished.

Yeh mine's slightly different on each side....but only I notice and I think it's cool. PPF is what I use. Bought a sheet of it so I've got tank protectors for a few years!

TAB also now offer three options for finishing it seems. Would definitely have gone for the front option (top image) given the opportunity. Also looking at that option reversed with the bulk of the tank painted - teardrop left polished.
