Keanu's favourite smell.

Nobody is perfect. Ok the guy isn’t an out n out technical expert.

But a Hollywood A lister talking about his Norton and Joy Division on national TV like that… plus the guys general approach and humble demeanour, in the face of what he’s put up with, and with exposure to the artificial brainwashing celebrity lifestyle, he’s gotta be up there with the coolest.

I've misspoken many times
I just didn't realize that took away my right to an opinion
You didn’t know?

Internet age rules are different baz.

I often wonder how some of histories great and good would measure up in this ‘constantly under the microscope‘ digital age.

My thinking is most of them would fall very short !

Lost all respect for him when he stated the Norton commando has the famous featherbed frame!!!!
And when he lost his commando in an airport car park
well I doubt he still thinks that, and Leno also said that.

Well if he now knows his commando has a a commando frame maybe I can forgive him
It just seemed strange to me that he thought that Norton commandos had a featherbed frame!
The essence of a commando is the isolastics
I don't see how you could have an interest in Norton's and not know that?
I didn't know Leno said the same thing!

I was not implying you didn't have a right to an opinion.

But, I think it is pretty harsh to have "lost all respect for him" over a mistake like that. Whether misspoken or misunderstood.

I thought Constantine was excellent, but walked out of the cinema during the first Matrix film (yawn).
Joy Division? Sorry, I'm a child of the 70's
And whilst I too can identify with the: 'Norton' smell (Silkolene 40w), I'm just surprised that anyone who's been that close to Rachel Weisz would prefer a smelly old motorcycle!
Must be nice to be in that position :)

The ’70s wasn’t ONLY prog rock and cannabis you know.

There was actually some good music created as well ;)

What I meant was I was a teenager in the 70's, and have a great affinity for most of the styles found in that era...
Cannibis? Long story there, but not for me, can't stand the sickly smell :)

As for Joy Division song... Released 1980

Yeah - like the Stones (and many others) before the Joy Division IMHO
I actually have the Bill Clinton excuse - I was sitting in a college room with about 6 others - passing around a joint - they were all giggling like idiots and I was thinking "when's this stuff gonna work?"
Trouble is, I've never liked smoking, so wasn't inhaling (hate that feeling) - so, it was all for nought!
Good whisky is sooo much better!

Not the first or last person to mix things up publicly, I think. But he does appreciate the brand over all the other choices out there, so respect for that. The last Hollywood icon to do that for Commandos was Clint Eastwood.
IIRC, Bruce Springsteen had a song with a lyric about fuelie heads on a big block Chevy

Well if we’re gonna get all specific… I believe the track was released as a single after the lead singer (Ian Curtis) had died. It’s basically their most commercial track, other stuff quite a bit more raw (ie better). But the band was formed much earlier and was playing in its final form from around ‘76.

After Curtis’ passing they went on to become New Order.

Stones. Best band in the world. Period.

The guy owns his own motorcycle company. I'm sure he knows the difference between a featherbed and a Commando.
It was in the arch motorcycle interview he said it
I was just surprised someone with a commando and sitting in his motorcycle shop would say that

From 'The Great Rock Discography' by Martin Strong:
'Formed mid '77 as: 'Warsaw', by late '77 became Joy Division....'
Surprisingly (or not, depending on your viewpoint), they don't even appear in: 'The Virgin Encyclopedia Of 70s Music', though their '79 debut: 'Unknown Pleasures' IS a 'featured album' in the 'Uncut.. History Of Rock In The 1970s' :)

(Doncha just love anoraks!!)
