No serious discussion here, snow on the ground, not riding anywhere today. Just wondering where folks have ridden thier Commandos. For me, It has been 17 US states and 4 Canadian Provinces. The furtherest South was to the Carolinas, west was to Michigan. Total of about 75K + miles I have put on the bike. You folks in the UK, et-al ?

Impressive - I have only taken my Commando on day trips - couple hundred miles tops .( and that is round trip )

Ireland, France, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg , Spain, Switzerland I've been to them all on my T160 as well, all several times. Only ever had one disaster , in Spain many years ago a Dymag wheel split between 2 spokes on my T160, had to recover it home . Had a few punctures and cable breakages , but mostly the bikes have performed admirably.

Top marks to the mechanic there Sam !

Mine got used a lot when I first got it, inc for work meetings etc.

But these days it gets used mainly for going nowhere fast… ie track days !

I do look forward to the day that I put the interstate tank and sensible bars on, but at the moment I’m having too much fun with it as is !

NH, MA, ME, VT, NY, NJ, RI, CT, PA, MD, DE, WV, VA, TN, NC, GA, SC, FL on this one.

Half way around our block on this one, last year.
The goal for this year is to get all the way around the block.
The other MK3 has done some good mileages in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Washington State.

Everywhere in Europe where there are mountains.
Here about to enter the infamous Parpaillon tunnel:

For most of my Norton's life it has been a everyday rider from new at the age of 17 and for the first 5 years was my only transport then in 1980 it had a short break when converting it to the Featherbed frame and was back on the road in 82 till 8 years ago, it has been my everyday rider most of that time as well my 81 Triumph Thunderbird, both bikes got ridden a lot, had the Thunderbird for 9 years then the Norton was the only bike ridden after that, it did have some small lay ups with more mods done to it and has clocked up over 160k miles on it now and 8 years ago bought my new 2013 Triumph Thruxton and the Norton became semi retired, I clocked up over 40K on the Thruxton and then upgraded to a 2016 Thruxton 1200S bought new old stock in 2018 and its now my everyday rider, I still ride the Norton regularly, but its still my play thing, sold the old Thruxton just recently as it wasn't being used much, the new Thruxton hasn't clocked up as many miles these days with this virus and all its just run in at 20k on the clock as my travels have been slowed down, the Norton is at the moment getting some more mods done to it going back to my old Amal carbs and is ready for firing again, but with all my other projects going on I am in no hurries as the Thruxton is always out.
Who said you will have plenty of time on your hands when you retire, after 8 years retired now I haven't slowed down with house renos, shed extensions, gardens, bikes and bikes and rebuilds for others 2 Norton's and one Shovel Head Harley so now no more working on others bikes only my own projects now, so this year hopefully will clock up more miles on the Norton as well the Thruxton.

Ashley, How are the pooches? I haven't seen them in your last few pictures posted. That is a nice fleet of transportation you are showing
Dave.

Dave the cattle dogs are camera shy lol well one Thruxton has left home the closes one so only the 1200 with the fairing and Norton is on the road, the dirt bike is hidden in the shed and the Manxman project bike is, well its scatted all over the shed bits on the work bench, frame, frontend and rear end is sitting on a wheeled stands so I can wheel it out of the way, one day I will start back on it or sell it as a project bike, just finished building my huge slot car track in the shed so running out of room lol, I am going back to my youth, I am not getting older but younger lol.
My Norton in the 46 years of ownership has been all over the east coast of Australia everywhere in my state of Queensland on many travels, but these days its just my fang ride pushing it to its limits when ever I take up the ranges and twisties, its a great light weight bike with heaps of grunt and I just love it.
