1977 T140 for Sale.

Perhaps the classified "for sale" forum is a more appropriate place to list this bike. A link to a picture or listing that worked would be nice.

1977 T140 for Sale.

I had a first year T140, good bike.

Thank you, Sam. It is going to Australia. Wish I could have kept it. My physical therapy, while proceeding and while I am improving, it’s not advancing fast enough to justify my keeping all of my bikes. I have kept my ‘73 Commando, the ‘p3 KTM 500 EXC, and the ‘are 86 Suzuki 1100 GSXR. The T1 40 was the last of the bikes that I decided to sell.

Lawdy, that sure is a fine specimen. Must've hurt. Glad it worked out for you.

Got back to this thread 7 months later.

Got even more money on re- list and to a So Cal buyer.

So far, while my recovery proceeds, and I could ride if I had to, it still would be unwise as my left arm strength and stamina still fall short of my expectations.

I was a mechanic at a Triumph Norton BMW dealer in the late 70s and early 80s. We sold a bunch of new Triumph T140 specials. They came stock with a black tank (with gold pin striping), MKIII Amals, Lucas electronic ignition and two into one pipes. I know this was the last iteration of the Bonneville but the T140 sure was a nice bike.

Actually the last iterations of the Bonneville, and Triumph Meriden's entire production, came to an end with the '83 TSS (8-valve) & TSX (4-valve, cruiser)

I think you're referring to the T140D. I agree, gorgeous looking then and still are ...

The end for Meriden but not quite the end for the T140 Bonneville.

Wow !!

We received one TSS, one TSX and one smoked red Triumph Executive with handlebar fairing and color matched hard luggage. Every bag had a different key.

Note I said "the last iterations of the Bonneville, and Triumph Meriden's entire production". Of course Harris "carried the torch" until Bloor could get his act together. He DEFINITELY got it together!

Yes, therefore, as I view it, the TSS and TSX were not the last "iterations" of the T140, the Harris Bonnevilles were.
