Norton V4SV: New Norton’s new superbike unveiled

I doubt there will be no front of queue for the new V4, if you are 4'6''then you might fit on it. Despite being a V4 it is very small when I saw it in the flesh, it was on a display stand about 4'' high and the back end was then jacked up on a paddock stand. Imagine Triumph 675 fitted with V4. Quick and light weight it looks to be, but not comfortable for tall riders.
That's exactly why we need a hooligan version with ergos suited to the physically mature, who also have arrested mental development.

Good point, those who are too big won't be going fast enough, overhanging body parts will be acting as an air brake.

Yeah good point actually.

A naked V4 ‘1200 Combat’ for the road, and a Superlight for the track. That should just about cover it I reckon.

But they need to introduce the Combat already, while I can still throw a leg over the bike.
Of course I'll need to sell a kidney, and part of my liver to buy one.

I expect they will go where Triumph went, offering a full range of options.

Saw his post on facebook under a Motorcycle live posting:

"I can't see that new Norton will be getting a warm welcome from the Norton V4SS owners group considering the lying deceitful way they are behaving with the owners! Please take note - we cannot warn you strongly enough to steer well clear of new Norton and do not spend your hard earned cash with them - go to a proven more honourable manufacturer - you have been warned please spread the word - I know from 1st hand experience"

So I asked him what were the details, as it sounds like Norton have offered them a good deal. the response was :

"do you own a V4SS or have any full comprehension of what has been and is going on !"

Said no I don't, but I'm aware of some of his, but essentially, if he makes these sweeping statements without any detail to back up what he says, it sounds like someone bitter with the old company wanting to take it out on the new. Conversely, if there is substance, I'd want to know.
I think I know who that is and if so he is extremely bitter and twisted. The new company appear to be going above and beyond but I think this bloke wants them to give people their money back for a bike they had nothing to do with.

I can understand people being upset for sure, but how upset you are has no bearing on the real world. If he wants his money back, try chasing the company that actually took his money and supplied him with his bike. His statements just make him look like someone depriving a village of an idiot. I'm sure he's not, but if he thinks these statements help him, then he's very much mistaken. The new company has offered a very good deal. His best way out of this is to take it in my view, as it's pretty much the only offer on the table...and there could so easily have been nothing apart rom the administration process of the CG era Norton. I note that his statement has disappeared....I think. Looking for pervious posts on FB is about as easy as wanting to claim a refund for a V4 from the the CG era Norton! :D

I think it is the hottest looking sports bike out there and i would be taking that deal. They will get sod all from the liquidation, if they got any money from garner, it would be minimal and the pension pots would likely get first dibs.

Has anyone seen the actual engine, with a view unfettered by plastic? How about a cutaway?

Frankly WR, I can’t understand why you haven’t ordered one already ?!?

I would offer an existing V4 owner £10K if I could then shell out £10K to Norton to get a new one. That's a damn fine offer as well

Do you have to prove to Norton/TVS that you were the original purchaser of the bike to get the £10K deal?

Nobody knows but, my guess is that the deal is for the original purchaser. Can't wait to see it, looks real quality. Not my sort of bike at the moment but i reckon they will export most of them

Hr Dr Bob said they want them off the road. If that’s the case they’ll make the offer to the whoever owns bikes, not the just the original buyers.

I said IF…

I would assume this would cover any owners, but I guess only owners would know what communications have transpired between the parties.

Curious how much heat the V4 is gonna put off. If it’s like the Ducati, that’s a lot. Can’t wait to hear real reviews. Wonder who’ll be the USA dealership. Now it’s just time to sit back and wait.
